BEST Program
B.E.S.T. or Balance Enhancement and Safety Training, is a program designed to help people who have problems with dizziness, imbalance or falls. Our program is staffed with therapists who have extensive training and experience in vestibular and balance rehabilitation.
The B.E.S.T. program starts with a doctor's referral and will include a comprehensive evaluation that provides a basis for designing an effective, individualized treatment plan. A typical treatment program may address some or all of the following areas:
- Balance Retraining
- Strengthening
- Specialized treatment techniques for vertigo/dizziness.
- Fall prevention training.
- Education to better understand balance problems.
- Education and advice to increase independence and safety through home modification and adaptive equipment.
Therapists have a suspended harness system available, enabling them to challenge a patient's balance skills while helping to prevent falls from occurring.
