St. Mary’s Hospital Volunteers Collect Donations for Area Charities

St. Mary’s Hospital Volunteers have launched a “St. Mary’s Cares” campaign to benefit three area charities during the month of November.

The week of November 5, the volunteers are collecting non-perishable food items for Loaves & Fishes; the week of November 12, they are collecting new or gently used children’s shoes for Zoe Kids’ Café and the final week, November 19, donations of personal care items (shampoo, toothpaste, soap, etc.) will be collected for the YWCA.

“This Thanksgiving season is a perfect time to help those who are less fortunate,” says Kelsey Keyworth, manager of Volunteer Services at St. Mary’s. “We feel that this is an appropriate time to collect much-needed items for people in our community who may be struggling by providing necessities we often take for granted,” she explains.

The volunteers have a collection box at the hospital’s information desk where employees, physicians and the community members can drop off donations.
