Sports Injury Services We Provide

Our therapists provide a wide range of services to help you recover from injuries, prevent future injuries from occurring, and achieve your highest level of performance.

Acute Injury Management

An acute injury is a one-time injury that involves distinct trauma, such as spraining your ankle. We provide treatment to help alleviate pain and improve strength and function.

Injury Prevention

Care for Overuse Injuries Such as Tendinopathy

Most sports and overuse injuries are due to minor trauma to soft tissue that affects the bones, muscles, ligaments, and/or tendons. Our goal for treatment is to control the pain, promote healing, prevent complications and restore normal use of the injured area.

Postoperative Rehabilitation

The purpose of postoperative rehabilitation is to rebuild motion and strength, and restore normal function after surgery. It's important to note that rehabilitation can be a long process. It's a progressive activity that involves gradually increasing workloads. The total time needed will depend on the type of surgery you are recovering from.

Return to Sport

We provide services to help athletes return to their sport. The level of participation is up to the athlete, whether you are simply participating in activities, returning to full playing level, or performing at or above your pre-injury level.

Meet Our Sports Physical Therapists

Kayla Lovell, PT, DPT, ATC, earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She is also a certified athletic trainer. While she enjoys treating all ages and types of injuries, being a former athlete herself, her passion lies with treating sports injuries. Kayla completed a clinical rotation at St. Mary’s Center for Rehabilitation during her final year of PT school. She enjoyed the people and atmosphere so much that once the opportunity arose to join the team she could not turn it down. In her down time Kayla enjoys exercising, many outdoor activities and watching sports.

Troy Wilczek, PT, DPT, earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma. He is currently working to earn his credentials as a Sports Certified Specialist for sports rehabilitation. As a therapist he gets to interact with a wide variety of patients, but sports rehabilitation is an area that Troy is very passionate about. After spending eight weeks at St. Mary’s as a student in 2017 Troy saw the closeness of the staff and knew that St. Mary’s was the place for him. Watching sports and spending time with his wife and daughter is his favorite past time.
